Portions of southeast Louisiana are under a Heat Advisory from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
For a heat advisory to be issued, the forecasted heat index has to be higher than 103 degrees. In this case, it could feel as hot as 112, with real temperatures in the 90s.
The Heat Advisory warns everyone there is a heightened risk for heat-related illnesses, so those spending time outdoors should take breaks indoors and drink water.
