The annual Hermann Park Conservancy Kite Festival returns to the park Sun., March 27, after being cancelled twice due to the pandemic.
Set for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. near Miller Hill and Jones Reflection Pool, the free event is intended for both novice and experienced kite flyers. Participants bring their own kites, but a kite vendor will be on site should any be needed.

In the past, the free event has drawn as many as 10,000 attendees.
Also part of the kid-friendly event are the Houston Dynamo’s inflatable soccer field, face-painting, The Rice University Marching Owl Band, the Kinder HSPVA Jazz Ensemble and more.
Food trucks will also be on hand.
Families are encouraged to bring a blanket and take a pedal boat or train ride after kite-flying.
