Joe Jonas is preparing to drop his first solo album in over a decade, promising fans it will be his "most personal" music yet. However, he is also letting everyone know he doesn't plan to "put stuff on blast" in his new songs amid a challenging year in his personal life, including his divorce from ex Sophie Turner.

In a new interview with Billboard, Jonas opened up about the "scary at times, and also freeing" process of making his upcoming second solo album Music for People Who Believe in Love, a follow-up to 2011's Fastlife that drops October 18, especially as he experienced big changes in his life. Jonas filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones alum in September 2023 after four years of marriage and welcoming two daughters together: Willa and Delphine.

"I was going through a lot of life changes," he said, "finding out who I was as a person and father and friend, and living under the microscope of what the music industry can be. And I think, at such a crazy time in my life, I looked to music as an outlet."

While making the album was a therapeutic experience for him amid difficult challenges and his highly-publicized divorce, Jonas noted that he isn't trying to put anyone or anything "on blast" on the record and instead wanted it to reflect his personal journey.

"I'm not trying to come for anyone on this album," he said. I"m not trying to put stuff on blast. I have a beautiful life that I'm grateful for. I've got two beautiful kids. I'm a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that — but also, the journey to get here."

Music for People Who Believe in Love drops October 18. Fans have already had their first glimpse at what the album may hold with the lead single "Work It Out."
