(Holy Bat Invasion, Batman!) South LA School Has A BAT Day

If you ever have a dozen bats taking up residence in a building, that's called a nuisance.  When there are about 600, that's like an invasion. Gueydan High School in Vermillion Parish has first-hand (and upside-down) experience. They've been hanging around (literally) at various spots throughout the school; occasionally taking off for a little school day flight.  According to Vermilion Parish Superintendent Jerome Puyau, "We had 600 bats flying around in the hallways."

Officials said it was in the school's best interest to temporarily close the school. Understandably so.  Bat exclusion experts from Baton Rouge are at the school today to remove the large colony.  Yep a colony.  “We just want to make sure that we have them removed and that the cleanup is all taken care of so that our kids can be safe and back to school on Wednesday." After all, it's the Gueydan BEARS; not bats.
