Include pecans in our diet could help protect us from heart attacks.
A Tufts University study shows pecans can improve our insulin sensitivity. Scientists believe that healthier fats found in pecans account for the difference. Pecans also contain a number of bio-active plant compounds as well as vitamins and essential minerals that contribute to their benefits as well.
But the researchers were quick to note that this study has only been done on a small scale so more test are needed and the huge amounts of sugar in a pecan pie cancels out their natural benefits. So NO PECAN PIE.
