Our sense of SMELL predicts how we will vote?

What Stinks?

Researchers at Stockholm University in Sweden found a link between a person's sense of smell and their political leanings. They did their research in our country too.

They found when US participants were given a survey that paired questions about smell with questions about which political candidates they planned to vote for in 2016; Turns out people who were more disgusted by certain odors such as urine and sweat were also more likely to vote for Donald Trump than those who were less sensitive.

Body odors have been found to light up regions of the brain used in recognizing familiar and frightening stimuli. The researchers believe this might come from a deep-seated paranoia of illnesses and diseases.
