The LSU and Alabama rivalry has reached new heights, and Brusly Elementary is responsible for a really cool idea for fundraising. The Crimson Tide Flag has been flying this week in the school courtyard with a specific donation goal. Here’s how it’s going down-so to speak.
PTO President Blaine Rabalais decided hanging the flag would be a good way to get fans riled up and would bring in large amounts of cash for the school. “We thought this would be perfect [way] to raise money and try to take down ‘Bama,” Rabalais told NBC Local 33.
Of course, LSU fans want to take it down. In order to do that they have to donate money and when they do, the flag starts to drop. But, there’s a catch. If an Alabama fan donates money, the flag raises.
“We usually don’t like ‘Bama fans but today we love their money,” he said. Parents have to love any idea that doesn’t have to involve selling cookie dough or World’s Finest Chocolates.
