(NBC Local 33) It was a freak accident that happened to Chris Throne in Denham Springs while he working on his dryer. “The shelf broke, my hand was in the dryer and just cut on the back of the sheet metal of the dryer” said Thorne. In that moment, he didn't realize he cut his wrist down to the bone because he didn’t feel any pain. As the blood was pouring out, Chris made it to his front lawn where he spotted Officer Adam Procell heading to a car crash. Talk about being at the right place at the right time.
Officer Procell did not hesitate and applied the newly implemented tactical causality combat care tourniquet. After watching the video, Throne told NBC LOCAL 33 “I couldn’t be more thankful, just watching the video and seeing the amount of time between when he arrived and then when the first responders got there, that’s 5 minutes I would have been bleeding. “It’s a miracle, it’s a miracle that he was there at that time.”
