I have a strong suspicion Livingston champ Laine Hardy helped Baton Rouge land an audition site for the upcoming season of American Idol. Maybe they thought it was something in the LP rivers. Or the passion ... or talent. Probably all of 'em. Whatever the reason, Baton Rouge found ourselves on the Season 18 audition list, with the stop a week from Sunday-August 25-at the Hilton Capitol Center downtown.
A brief overview:
August 25th auditions will begin no later than 9 am at the Hilton Capitol Center at 201 Lafayette Street in downtown Baton Rouge. If you do not preregister, it is HIGHLY recommended you arrive at least a couple of hours early.
You must be a legal U.S. resident, 15 to 28 years old (which means you must be born on or between June 2, 1990 and June 1, 2004). If you were born before or after this window, you are not eligible to participate.
You can register online prior to the day of your audition by clicking here. . This preregistration process for each audition city will be open approximately one week before the audition day for that audition city. You will receive a confirmation email once your online registration is complete. If you registered online successfully, you can pick up your wristband and seat ticket (if applicable) on the day of your audition.
Season 18 news: It was just announced a couple of days ago that ALL of the judges -Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan-will be returning for Season 4. The only name absent from that American Idol announcement was host Ryan Seacrest. We shall see on that one. If he's not there, it may be Bobby Bones, even though he has been announced as "guest mentor" once again for the new season.
