Why We Love The New Orleans Saints In Preseason. And I Have Video.

Summer soccer is OK. And I like to see the Houston Astros in 1st place. But in all honesty, I’ve waited for MONTHS for this moment in sports time. Today is the first day for the New Orleans Saints to hit the field. Now, before you give me the “but it’s only preseason” speeches, remember two things.

First-even though I am in the media- I am not a sports journalist. In fact, I was lucky to get a C in journalism at LSU back in the day. All my sports reporter and columnist friends will tell me – often – I shake the black and gold pom-poms a little too much to be objective. I plead guilty. Which brings me to the 2nd reason for the preseason. It’s our first look at Sean’s team. Drew’s team. Our team. And the Who Dat Nation in the Dome will make the kind of noise tonight that the Vikings will remember for a long time. Even by preseason standards.

For anyone who remembers the agony of the paper bags of the Aints way back in the day, or -more recently- the Los Angeles Robs game that stopped our Super Bowl run last year, that’s ALL in the past. The Saints have added some more pieces to the player puzzle that have already dazzled on the practice field. You thought Drew had a lotta guys to throw to last year? Just wait.

OK, Who Dat Nation, it's time for a video booth review. (By the way, no officials allowed for this review.) Remember this moment in time?

NOW, let's kick this thing off!
