PODCAST! Teen Speak For Dummies (Parents) From My 15 Year-Old & His Friend

This idea hit me when I was driving my teen-aged son Sean (and a couple of his friends) to the Y to play some basketball. It took some effort - and few questions- to understand the foreign language I was hearing in the backseat area.

"Bro, I broke his ankles." That's sports slang for doing a quick juke and blowing past the guy who was guarding him. Then they added, the other guy was "thirsty." I assumed the opponent was dehydrated. Nope. The other person was overly desperate.

For me, speaking Klingon is easier than understanding this. For real. So, I invited Sean and his friend Thomas to define the terminology for us, so we don't have to live in ignorance and sheer stupidity.

CAUTION: You should not use these in front on your kids, because they'll give you the look that says, "you're old." That part we get.
