HUGE Crawfish WIN For BR's Jay Ducote On Food Network!

Whatever the rest of the nation thought about Louisiana crawfish boils, America found out last night about the superiority of that culinary classic on Food Network's Beat Bobby Flay. For real. But, even with that South Louisiana truth, you gotta have the right guy at the pot. He was. And it was clear Baton Rouge chef Jay Ducote was not intimidated by his famous competitor's home-kitchen advantage.

The Jay vs. Flay throw down (and pour in) featured Louisiana born and boiled crawfish, orchestrated by a real mudbug master. The result was Ducote domination. Food Network had to speed up the 45 minute process in order to fit within the show's time frame, but in the end, Jay was perfect. The spices, butter and veggies. All the plate accessories..AND the filming at the right season for the seasoning.

The 3 celebrity judges were convinced, and Jay was ready to play when their decision was made. At the end of the show, Jay got his smiling face right in the camera, and shouted out, "I'm Jay Ducote and I just beat Bobby Flay!" At watch parties around town, crowds cheered, because Jay Ducote made us all proud. And hungry.
