(WATCH) 103-Year-Old Baton Rouge Woman Sets A National Running RECORD!

One of the highlights of this young lady’s life journey was meeting First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt at LSU in 1937. Education major Julia "Hurricane" Hawkins was also on campus for the very first live Tiger mascot introduction of Mike 1. But, it wasn’t until her age zoomed past the century mark that she got national recognition.

A couple of years ago at 101, she set a Senior Games women’s record for the 100 meter dash. This week, Julia showed she wasn’t done at 103. Monday in Albuquerque, she set the record in the 50-meter dash for her division, according to KRQE-TV. Yesterday, Julia Hawkins finished first in the Senior Games 100+ women’s 100-meter dash in a little more than 46 seconds.

Here’s how she did it. Just see if you can keep up.

In 2017, she gave an awesome interview to her Alma Mater, LSU. Julia told her secrets to long life, and how she got there. Pretty amazing.
