I just got this email this morning. Thanks Carol Lee. You made our week!
I just wanted you to know I've enjoyed the podcasts on Laine Hardy. I believe Laine should win and he's also won the hearts of those who are watching American Idol.
I went on a tour last year to LA and stayed in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans. One thing that stuck out to me was how polite and respectful the youth are in LA.
Our tour group stayed in Baton Rouge and there were a few groups of kids staying at the hotel. Sometimes that can be a challenge if the kids roam the hallways late at night making noise, etc., but such was not the case with these kids at the hotel.
I was caught by surprise when I got into the elevator and one of the kids said, "what floor are you going to ma'am?" and she pressed the button for my floor. I know you probably think that's so insignificant, but that doesn't happen in other parts of the US. I've lived in the Northwest, Southwest and currently live in the Northwest.
Something else that sticks out the outpouring of support Laine Hardy and his family have gotten from their community. They watch out for each other and help out without even being asked to do so.
P.S. Who knew bread pudding could be so good in LA!
Thanks Carol Lee, you ROCK. (By the way, we invented bread pudding here!)
Finally, I wanted to add this piece of news from the San Francisco area. The San Jose Mercury is doing a reader poll on who's leading on American Idol. This is certainly worth a look. Though the poll of over 2,500 people is not scientific, it certainly gives us an idea.
