American Idol LIVE Last Night: Livingston's Laine And Laci Go To "Jackson"

It was a HUGE night for our South Louisiana singing star last night on American Idol. To put it mildly. Laine Hardy is now officially in the Top SIX; first crushing a Johnny Cash/June Carter duet with Laci Kaye Booth, then proceeding to rip Fat Bottomed Girls from Queen. (Both videos are posted below.)

Ryan Seacrest pointed out this was an American Idol first: You had TWO singers from Livingston (different states-Louisiana and Texas), singing a duet about Mississippi. Jackson, to be more specific. You might remember the 1967 duet from Cash and Carter became wildly popular after it's use in the 2011 film, The Help.

The chemistry of this performance was CRAZY; to the point where judge Katy Perry even suggested there could be more to this duet relationship than just professional. Ain't so. She has a boyfriend, and - as he told us before -Laine's got a girlfriend. This was just a perfect fit of two very natural performers; a music picture of two friends that are very comfortable with each other. As Laine told me, "We're all like family."
