WATCH: LSU Tiger Band Lead The Way Today For LSU Student Zulu Queen!

This was a Zulu parade first. LSU sophomore Kailyn Rainey from New Orleans was chosen to reign as queen during the legendary parade. This was the first time in Zulu's long history that an LSU student was chosen as queen. As it turned out, this was also a family affair thing. Her grandfather-George B. Rainey -served as king.

An LSU/Zulu event like this deserved the proper fanfare. Who better to take care of that duty than the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland. Sporting 2 of the 3 Mardi Gras colors-as always-the purple and gold marchers led the way in this historical moment this morning in New Orleans.
