BR's Chef Chris Motto Leaves Hell's Kitchen To Come Home!

Baton Rouge's famous chef Chis Motto may not be 6'2" tall like Hell's Kitchen's Gordon Ramsay, but he can stand toe-to-toe with anyone. Fearless. Bold. And not even afraid to walk away from the chance at $250,000 and an executive chef position at Ramsay's restaurant at Caeser's Palace in Las Vegas.

Chris dropped the bombshell to his three fellow finalists on Friday night. "I'm not one to give up on anything, but I think at the end of the day, the place I need to be is back home...I want to go back. I want to start a family. I want to raise the culinary standards in Baton Rouge."

Motto made it clear he wants to grow what he has built at Mansurs On The Boulevard. "That's what I've been working on the last five years. I'm not ready to give up on that."

Upon learning of his decision, Gordon Ramsay didn't even offer any of his infamous on-air expletives to be bleeped out. Ramsay said he was surprised about the decision and told Motto he was the most sincere chef he had ever met. He added, "Once you're done in Baton Rouge, and you're ready for the next move, call me."

Don't count on it, Gordon. Baton Rouge is the only place where he wants to hang his skillet. He knows our city is really special. And so is he. Welcome home, Chris. We missed you.
