Who else would be a better choice to judge American Idol contestants than the first ever winner?

If you haven’t already heard, American Idol will be making a return to TV screens very soon. (CLICK HERE to see what previous host, Ryan Seacrest, had to say about it). And Kelly Clarkson is said to be the top choice to join the new judging panel for ABC’s hit singing competition reboot.
According to editors at TMZ, ABC has expressed “serious interest” in signing Kelly as a judge. And it seems that she is just as interested, due to the fact that the 35-year-old singer has already cleared her schedule to start filming for auditions.
Unlike the original show (which lasted for 15 seasons) where the judges would travel across America to hold auditions in a city near you, the auditions will be based in one single location. And that location is… Walt Disney World. This should be very beneficial to Clarkson, who is a mother of two precious babies (two-year-old daughter River Rose, and son Remington Alexander) and most likely wouldn’t want to travel far away from them for very long.
If Clarkson lands the role, she will follow in the footsteps of big former judges such as Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, Nicki Minaj and Simon Cowell. During its final season, Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban, and Jennifer Lopez served as judges, and Trent Harmon was crowned the winner.
