3 – Serendipity
Starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale
- I never saw this until this past year. Now the ending is far-fetched (glove falls out of the sky on a skating rink…really?), but the idea of a chance meeting and chasing her after all these years…yes it’s romantic in a not-likely-to-happen kinda way.
2 – 50 First Dates
Starring Sandler and Drew Barrymore
- Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore had 2 great movies as the romantic couple…this one and The Wedding Singer. I prefer this one because it shows the persistence of the guy chasing after something he’s been told he probably will never have. Plus this one has an AWESOME soundtrack…every song!
1 – Love Actually
Starring Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Liam Neeson and more
- Yep…my “go to” rom-com again. I have to admit I watched it too much over the Christmas holidays and had to give it a rest, but it’s time to watch again. I think I like this one so much because of the many separate love stories and how they intertwine and how I can see my somewhat romantic self in a few of the stories. Definite winner.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Sweet Home AlabamaI love the antagonistic relationship between Reese Witherspoon’s character and her maybe-soon to be-ex Josh Lucas’ character. It’s funny and romantic and Patrick Dempsey is in it for a bonus.
