Is it possible to train yourself to like healthy but bitter Brussels sprouts? Well sure some would argue in South Louisiana we can make any food taste great but still a lot of the healthier foods get shoved off the dinner plate because they taste bitter. Turns out our saliva can make bitter food taste better if we have a lot of it…the more saliva we have the more we are able to bind bitter notes to more comforting proteins. A week of training was all it took to make the change to enjoying healthier bitter tasting food.
So how do you do it? Apparently drinking chocolate almond milk daily for a week. Wow, that doesn't seem that hard to do. It is the bitter flavor of the drink that weekends your bodies sensitivity to bitter flavors from anything.
