Usually as we approach the 2 or 3 in the afternoon we have an overwhelming desire to nap. Mine is so bad I try to make sure I’m not even behind the wheel around that time. Well the experts suggest we try just a couple of things to perk us up.
For starts breathe deep. Sleepy breathing is shallow, we need to wake things up with a few deep breathes. In through your nose for a count of three and then out through your mouth for a count of three.
Get walking. Just 250 extra steps can be enough to boost your energy.
Re-hydrate. When you’re dehydrated, your blood pressure drops making you sleepy.
Three things. Remind yourself of three things that went well in the day. Caught a few green lights on the way into work. You have dinner already figured out...it doesn't have to be a big thing. Anything that gets you thinking on a more positive note will be enough.
