Annoying 'know-it-alls' ARE less informed

Research has backed up what we kind of suspected all along, People who are convinced they are always right often overestimate their abilities. Know-it-alls tend to know very little but are much more likely to choose information that supports their beliefs. This means they miss out on opportunities to improve their knowledge. Here is the tricky part, more humble people tend to underestimate their knowledge and worst of all women also underestimate their intelligence even after test showed they scored as well if not better than their male counter parts. The advice they offer is for us to get over our fear of having our opinions challenged and become encouraging of others voicing their opinions too.
