Cutting back on cigarettes is futile

Cutting back on cigarettes is futile: Study finds quitting will improve lung health - but smoking fewer does nothing

Intermittent smoking is popular among heavy smokers trying to quit and younger people because it is seen as less harmful. But it’s not. Researchers have found that light smokers have worse lung function than heavy smokers who have quit. The only possible benefit you could be having is cutting your rituals attached to smoking. So begin with not smoking in your car or right outside your office doors. This way when you decide to quit completely you won’t have those usual habits and visual cues to trigger a craving.
