A new study has found a link between people with extra-large waistlines and lower levels of vitamin D. Lower vitamin D levels is associated with dangerous liver fat in obese men while women could cut their risk of early menopause by keeping their vitamin D levels up. All of this is on top of previous studies that linked a lack of vitamin D to arthritis, asthma and type 1 diabetes. The main natural source of vitamin D is sunlight, however, you don’t need to get burnt or even tan to get enough. It is also in oily fish, egg yolks and fortified cereals. As for supplements, check with your doctor first to know the right amount for you.
