The theory is that a dog's birth month could impact its health. Apparently puppies born in the spring 'like wolves' have a lower risk of heart disease. Wolves are only born in the spring due to the restrictions of the wild but, due to domestication by humans, dogs can now be bred year-round.
Dogs, like wolves, born in April and May are far less likely to suffer a heart attack than others. While this is new data in dogs this is not limited to them. Previous research found that people born in the northern hemisphere in January and April are at the highest risk of coronary heart disease.
