Got a craving for a certain dish? Get a picture of it and that is all it takes to get the recipe. The creators of a new piece of artificial intelligence are hoping to make it possible to find the recipe for the dish your friend posted while away on vacation. MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory created a database of over a million recipes to build the system, called Pic2Recipe. The app can identify ingredients like flour, eggs and butter from just a photo of the food item. It then suggests several recipes that it thinks are right from its database.
So far the system has gotten the correct recipe 65 per cent of the time.
