How Much to Watch New Movies at Home?

posted by Margie Maybe -

A couple is sitting on a couch watching a flat screen television with photo images coming out of the sides. The tv has a glowing light coming out the top. Use it for a media, entertainment, technology or date night concept.

With DVD sales on the decline movie studios are looking to make-up the loss in cash flow by pushing to debut films on-demand for a $50 rental just 17 days after they opened. (Most major movies are only made available to rent 90+ days after their release.)  Fox and Warner Bros., are also considering making films available at 30 to 45 days after their opening, and for $30 a rental.

Hmm, what do you think?

To me it doesn't matter how fancy my husband makes our home viewing experience (he is the gadget king.) I still enjoy the whole event of going to a theater to watch a movie. The real reason we cut back was that it was costing too much! Sadly, if you have more than two people going--that $30 price tag is a steal...
