Could Dogs Do Our Mammograms?!?

Dogs have been trained to sniff for a lot of things so why not cancer? Researchers in 6 months were able to train dogs to sniff out cancer from bandages worn by patients. They began testing with bandages worn on women with and without breast cancer. The dogs were able to determine which bandage was worn by a woman who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. These same dogs were later tested on other cancers and again had correct results. They are hoping for more funding to try and work with more dogs. One day an initial screening for cancer may be a lot less invasive and more like a friendly visit with a pooch! Click here to read more...
