Lizzo Says She Loves 'Normalizing The Dimples' On Her Butt

LIZZO is nothing short of a contagious pop star and her mission to spread body positivity continues in her new cover story for Essence magazine.

"I'm doing this for myself," the 31-year-old star admitted in the feature, which surfaced on Wednesday (May 16). "I love creating shapes with my body, and I love normalizing the dimples in my butt or the lumps in my thighs or my back fat or my stretch marks."

Why does Lizzo take such a strong stance on spreading word about her body confidence? It's partially because she learned a long time ago that she had to do so. "I made a decision to be myself because I knew I had no choice," she continued. "I'm not ignorant to the fact that we had to have a demeanor of lowering ourselves culturally just to exist. But I’m trying to shake up the narrative about how we’re supposed to act."

On the music-front, Lizzo's new collaboration with Charli XCX, "Blame It On Your Love," simultaneously dropped on Wednesday and it hears the pair sing atop a handclap-driven beat, which was produced by Stargate and A.G. Cook. Click here to listen to the duo's new track!
