It is estimated that the 26 hours per week (sadly, that seems low) teenagers spend looking at screens has been causing an uptick in the need for glasses as a teenager. The signs of eyes getting weak are not immediately clear, take headaches, they are often attributed to other sources. Regular visits to an optician is recommended.
Other signs to lookout for…
Sitting close to the TV
Holding objects very close to their face
Blinking a lot
Eye Rubbing
One eye turning in or out
(Margie’s note: When my kids were young we were in a Home Depot and noticed a bird in the rafters. Only my second grader couldn’t see it. Made an appointment with an eye doctor that day!)
