I don't know about your family, but in ours, we can never seem to figure out how to order the correct amount of pizza. Do we get two mediums? Or one big one? (Like we could even agree on toppings!)
Fermats Library on Twitter is trying to help us get to the bottom of the deep pan on how much pizza we really need. BTW, this tweet that has been reweeted over 22,000 times. @Fermatslibrary found that the area of an 18" pizza is GREATER than the area of two 12" pizzas. Therefore, one large pizza has more pizza than two small pizzas!
And you thought you'd never use this kind of math in the real world!
